Build valuable leadership and communication skills with other youth

OUR MISSION

U+ Toastmasters is a non-profit organization that provides youth below 30 years old with the opportunity to enhance their public speaking and leadership skills.

HOW WE DO IT

As a group, youth support each other by completing projects in the Toastmasters Competent Communication and Competent Leadership manuals. These projects encourage youth to practice new skills through a variety of activities, whether it be a goal-focused speech or taking on a leadership role at a meeting. Youth build confidence by leading the meeting, signing up to give a speech, and practicing impromptu speaking while gaining feedback.

BUILD COMFORT AND CONFIDENCE WITH PUBLIC SPEAKING

Public speaking is about getting your message across. Once we've figured out a way for our thoughts and ideas to be heard, it builds the confidence needed to deliver the speech or presentation.

IMPROVE SOFT SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU MORE ATTRACTIVE TO RECRUITERS

In a competitive job market, you’ll find yourself competing with others who have the same technical skills as you. Improving your soft skills is the best way to discern yourself from the other candidates.

GROW LEADERSHIP AND COOPERATION SKILLS TO BE PREPARED FOR THE FUTURE

Effective leadership qualities are highly-sought out these days. Improve your leadership skills to give yourself a competitive edge in the workplace and other aspects of life.

MOST IMPORTANTLY - HAVE FUN!

The Gavel Club is not just a place for learning - but also to have fun and interact with others. We pride ourselves on the community we've built up and are always looking for more people to meet.
